Fireworks expected at the final race of the Grand Prix

The final race in the runbritain Grand Prix is to be held at the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash on 17 November.
The flat, out and back course is expected to produce lightening quick times and fireworks at the sharp end of the field as many of Britain's finest road runners have signed up for the race.
Nicholas Torry (handicap MINUS 5.3), currently sitting at the top of the men's leader board, and Dave Webb (handicap MINUS 4.6) who is in second are not expected on the start line as both ran the Frankfurt Marathon finishing in 2:15:08 and 2:15:21 respectively giving them the two fastest marathon times in the country this year. Both have a big enough cushion, however, to stay on top.
Frank Tickner (handicap MINUS 2.8) and Ian Williams (handicap MINUS 3.0) are likely to accelerate up the Grand Prix rankings in this race having only completed three Grand Prix races this year. The best four scores from the six available races count at the end of the series. If Frank finishes in the leading group in this event he could move as high as third overall and Ian could move up to fifth.
The women's leader board is headed by Katrina Wootton (handicap MINUS 0.9) who has not yet signed up for the final event. Claire Jacobs (handicap 1.9) is currently in 4th position and with four races in the series under her belt will be looking to improve on one of those scores with the aim of moving into third place which is only four points away. However, Tish Jones (handicap MINUS 0.3) has the biggest chance of climbing up the score board. She has only run three races and won every one of them. Another win would give her an overall second place.
