FAST GIRLS - competition winner announced

Fast GirlsFollowing our competition in early May where we offered runbritain readers the chance to win two tickets to an exclusive screening of the film FAST GIRLS, we’re pleased to announce that Andrew Baker from Great Yarmouth, is the winner!

Andrew plans to take his 14 year-old daughter Phoebe Baker - also a runner - who plans to take part in a special ‘red carpet’ race in Leicester Square.

Set to be the feel-good movie of the summer, FAST GIRLS will burst out of the blocks and into UK cinemas on 15 June.

Written by and co-starring Noel Clarke (Kidulthood), FAST GIRLS tracks the rollercoaster journey of a British female sprint relay team and stars a trio of Britain’s hottest young stars: LENORA CRICHLOW (Being Human), LILY JAMES (Wrath of the Titans) and BRADLEY JAMES (Merlin).

Cameo appearances include star athletes JONATHAN EDWARDS, IWAN THOMAS and COLIN JACKSON, and the actors' coaching team is headed up by 100m sprint champion JEANETTE KWAKYE and relay star SHANI ANDERSON. The powerful soundtrack includes music from EXAMPLE, LABRINTH, EMELI SANDE, EJ and MADEON.

When sassy streetwise Shania (Lenora Crichlow) meets ambitious, middle class Lisa (Lily James), their two worlds collide on the athletics track with explosive results. As the FAST GIRLS strive to qualify for a major world athletics championship, they battle adversity and rivalry on their dramatic, heartwarming and inspirational journey.

Well done Andrew, hope you and Phoebe enjoy the film!
