Evie Deehhan, aged nine, has been announced as the winner of a competition to design the official t-shirt for the 2016 Ikano Bank Robin Hood Mini Marathon.

Evie was presented with the first print of her design on the t-shirt at a celebratory assembly on 22 July, presented by Ikano Bank’s Communications and Social Responsibility Manager, Lisa McIndoe. The design will be printed on the official Ikano Bank Robin Hood Mini Marathon T-Shirt worn by all entrants of the 1.5mile race on 25th September 2016.

Evie Deehan won the public vote when three finalist designs were uploaded onto the race Facebook page. Commenting on the winning design, Lisa McIndoe said: “The annual mini marathon t-shirt competition is a great way for local children to get involved and, once again, the standard of entries this year has been fantastic. We loved Evie’s winning design and look forward to seeing the runners decked out in the distinctive red t-shirts. Well done to everyone who entered the competition and good luck to all those taking part in the Ikano Bank mini marathon on the 25th September. The Ikano Bank team will be there to cheer everyone on!”

Starting at Victoria Embankment, the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Mini Marathon will also feature the Schools Challenge, open to all schools in the surrounding area. All children of school age who enter the Ikano Bank Robin Hood Mini Marathon are automatically entered into the Schools Challenge. Prizes are awarded based on the top three boys and girls from an individual school in the following age categories: U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, U17. The fastest three girls and boys and overall schools champion will also win prizes at a special presentation evening after the main event in September.

The run will be chip timed, which means that the young runners can enjoy the same treatment as their marathon elders and receive an accurate finish time. Every participant will also have access to race day photographs, receive a medal and be able to download a finisher’s certificate as a record of their achievements.
