Event adjudicators - 120 signed up
Last week saw the 120th Event Adjudicator sign up for the new runbritain race licensing process.
From 1 April runbritain move to a system where ten Regional Panels – East, East Midlands, London, North East, North West, South, South East, South West, West Midlands and Yorkshire and Humberside oversee the licensing process.
All licensed races (over 2,000) will be scruniteered by an Event Adjudicator reporting to the Regional Panels to ensure compliance with licence standards with the role being filled by current Race Directors, County Licensing Officers, Race Referees, Endurance Officials and BARR officials.
Geoff Wightman, MD of runbritain said;
“It is very encouraging that so many of our current officials and a number of race directors have committed to the new process and will take on this role. Over the next few weeks we will be testing the IT programmes developed to support the new process in our pilot regions of the North East and North West and I would like to thank the Chairs of these regions Kevin Carr and Adrian Thiemicke for their invaluable support.
We are still recruiting Event Adjudicators and aim to have between 250 and 300 in place by March 2013. Anyone interested in a role can go to www.runbritain.com/rdp for further details.”
