Evening with fell running legends

THREE fell running legends will reflect together, for the first time ever, on their achievements, racing stories and love of the Lake District fells.
Joss Naylor, Kenny Stuart and Billy Bland, who set records spanning two decades – of which many remain unbeaten to this day – are appearing at Brathay Hall, near Ambleside on Friday 1st April.
Held just weeks away from the 10th Brathay Windermere Marathon and ‘10in10’ challenge - of which Joss Naylor is the patron - the event looks back at the golden age of fell racing through the eyes of three inspirational legends. The evening will include a question and answer session and discussion with the audience. Joss will also reveal his plans to celebrate his 80th birthday this summer.
During the 1970’s and 1980’s Joss, Kenny and Billy set records including the Ben Nevis Race, the Bob Graham Round and 10 victories in the Lake District Mountain Trial. Aside from a long list of race victories and endurance fell records they each ran for very personal reasons; their deep connection to the landscape and culture of the Lakeland valleys where they still live.
A limited number of places are available. Tickets cost £30 per person and include a welcome drink, hot pot supper and event goody bag. The event, which is a fundraiser for youth charity Brathay Trust, starts at 7pm.
