Entry open for popular Running4Women Windsor 10K

The organisers of the Running4Women Windsor 10K have announced that entry for this popular women-only event is now open .
The 2016 Running4Women Windsor 10K takes place in Windsor Great Park on Saturday 24th September at a new start time of 10.00am.
Following the feedback from runners after the 2015 race further improvements have been made, and new additions for 2016 include a free race t-shirt for all finishers, music in the race village and on course, onsite massages plus a children’s fun run. Other incentives for runners include bottled water, race pacers, an aerobic warm up, an automatic text message when crossing the finish line and age category prizes.
The Running4Women Windsor 10K is an all-inclusive event for runners of all levels from club runners and seasoned athletes through to charity runners and beginners. The race starts and finishes on The Long Walk and features a picturesque traffic-free course, stunning surroundings and amazing views of Windsor Castle and across Windsor Great Park.
The 2015 race was won by Nell McAndrewin a new course record time of 39:16, with Collette Callanan (Sandhurst Joggers) in second place in 41:03 and Liz Killip (Stragglers) claiming third place in 41:25. The Generation Game will also take place again as part of the 10K, which will see the mother and daughter team with the lowest aggregate time on the podium.

“It’s very inspirational to see so many female runners of all levels get together, many of them racing for the first time and others raising money for charity. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on 24th September at what promises to be our best ever Windsor 10K!”
The Running4Women Windsor 10K is part of the Windsor Running Festival which also includes the Windsor Half Marathon on Sunday 25th September.
All of the race’s charity partners return for 2016 and include: CLIC Sargent (Platinum Charity Weekend Partner), Cancer Research UK (Gold Charity Weekend Partner), Help for Heroes (Silver Charity Weekend Partner), Alzheimer’s Society and Bloodwise (Bronze Charity Weekend Partners). Berkshire MS Therapy Centre, Childlife, CRY, Daisy’s Dream and Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation are the Copper Charity Weekend Partners for 2016.

Entries are open now and cost £22.50 for UKA Club Members and £24.50 for unaffiliated runners, which includes a medal and race t-shirt for all finishers as well as free onsite parking.
