Entries open for second race in the Grand Prix

Entries are now open for the Bristol 10k, which will be the 2nd Grand Prix race and will see the best road runners in the uk vying for top honours and the chance to win the overall runbritain Grand Prix title that culminatesAge UK Leeds Abbey Dash on November 16th .
With 12,000 runners expected to toe the line on at Bristol on 11th May, there will be a tremendous festival of running on the streets of Bristol, close to the flat lands around the river Avon. Wheelchair racers start at 9:00 and runners will start at 9:30 with a second wave 15 minutes later. Entries are open until Monday 14 April.
Elite runners are eligible for free entry (Men sub 31.30 mins, Women sub 35.30 within the last year).
One of this year's highlights will be Martin Rees (handicap -1.1) returning to attempt another world record. Having run an incredible 32:54 last year, he will return to shave more time from his own record and write himself into the record books again as the fastest in the world over 10k in the M60 category. The odds look promising as last weekend he clocked 73:19 at the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon, which was the first race in the Grand Prix and knocked almost a minute off the previous best of 74:15 for the half marathon for a 61 year old.
The top 250 men and women from the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon will now receive an email inviting them to enter Bristol with an extended entry deadline beyond the public closing date and their own online link to the entry system.
