Entries now open for the Brathay Windermere Marathon

Entries are now open for the 2016 Brathay Windermere Marathon and the NEW Half Marathon that will take place on Sunday 22 May.
The marathon sends runners around a lap of England's largest lake, surrounded by breath-taking Lake District scenery.
This marathon is truly beautiful, with a carnival atmosphere finishing on the lawn of Brathay Hall, overlooking the lake. Once the 26.2 mile distance is covered, runners are given an inspirational finish line experience and a medal that is simply gorgeous!
The 13.1 mile half marathon course (all on closed roads) starts at Brathay Hall and runs through the honey-pot village of Hawkshead. It then continues alongside Esthwaite Water to the halfway point.
On the return to Brathay there’s a new perspective on the stunning Lakeland scenery with views of the iconic Langdale Pikes and surrounding fells.
Runners in both the marathon and half marathon will also be privileged to see the 10in10 runners complete their 'lap of honour'. Fourteen people are already signed up to tackle 10 marathons in 10 consecutive days, running the same anti-clockwise circuit around Lake Windermere. Their final lap will be run in conjunction with the Brathay Windermere Marathon.
