The series is in its third year and continues to go from strength to strength offering women the chance to run a 10K on traffic-free courses in a friendly environment. This year, due to overwhelming feedback from competitors, sees race day move to Sunday mornings, while there is now also a 5K option.

The first race in the series takes place in Cardiff on May 31 at Bute Park, a gorgeous parkland featuring lovely scenery and a nationally renowned array of unique, ornamental trees.

TV comedy star, Ruth Jones, known for her comic roles in Gavin and Stacy and Stella will also be running in the event. Getting into running this year after being part of a three-person relay team in the Cardiff half, Ruth has fallen in love with the sport.

Ruth will be pulling together a team with her work colleagues and is urging everyone to get involved in running even if they feel unsure of their abilities. ‘Seriously, look at me – if I can do it anyone can. I can’t believe I’m actually looking online for runs that I can do. The WR10K in Cardiff’s Bute Park is one I’m definitely signing up for  – Bute Park is gorgeous.’

Next up is Finsbury Park on June 7th, followed by Southampton Common on June 14 and June 28. All entrants will receive a free goody bag, filled with quality kit and nutritional goods and finishers will receive an event t-shirt and medal for their achievements.

If you enter up to three months before race day, you will pay just £23* for the 10K and £21* for the 5K, a saving of £3 off the standard entry price for the 10K distance or a saving of £1 off the 5K distance (*plus booking fee).
