The special offer continues with a £4 advance entry fee for the junior event.
Sponsored by the Admiral Group and supported by Welsh Athletics as part of the Run Wales race series, the event, now in its 32nd year, also features an Inter Area match.
The course records of Felix Limo (27:39) and Rehab Ddungu (32:36) in the men’s and women’s races respectively highlight the very fast nature of the flat out and back course.
Justina Heslop of Clapham Chasers, who just missed out on the ladies course record last year by a mere four seconds, has indicated she would like to return to defend her crown and claim the number one spot in the overall Swansea rankings. She is currently 15th in the runbritain Grand Prix standings after victory and 250 points in round one, the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon.
The Admiral Swansea Bay event also features a 100m Mascot race, a separate 10k wheelchair race, stalls and entertainment, and all race finishers receive a t-shirt, medal and goody bag.
Nigel Jones, the City and County of Swansea’s Special Events Manager and event Race Director said: “The Admiral Swansea Bay 10k is a leading event in the Swansea Bay Festival and the UK event calendar and this year is more exciting than ever in such an important sporting year. The council’s “Be Part of It!” campaign is encouraging people to get involved in all types of sport and physical activity such as running or walking and the 10k race and junior races are perfect opportunities to give it a go!”
