Emma Pooley on 6.3 after winning Lausanne Marathon

The runbritain rankings system

Emma Pooley, (handicap 6.3)  won an Olympic silver medal for cycling in the time trial in 2008 and finshed 6th in 2012 but  has recently turned her attentions to running, which has resulted in a fine win at the Lausanne Marathon and a reduction in her runbritain handicap score.

The Lausanne Marathon that took place last Sunday saw Emma cross the finish line more than 7 minutes ahead of her nearest rival and in so doing took her handicap score down from 6.7 to 6.3. Emma has taken part in several long distance running races over the last couple of months. She ran the 19K Transviamala run on 20th October and the Jungrau Marathon on 14th September suggesting that she is falling back in love with her first sport, which was running. She won her Sporting Blue at Cambridge University for cross country running and triathlon before taking up cycling.

We hope to see her in her running shoes on many more occasions in the future!
