Elite entries available at Wilne 10k

The Wilne 10k, that takes place on 4th September, is inviting elite athletes to race on this flat and fast course. The organisers would like to hear from men who have run sub 31:30 and women who have run sub 36:30 or equivalent. The organisers are able to provide free entry and free hotel accommodation. Half-price entries for men who have run sub 32:30 men and women who are sub 37:30 or equilvalent are also available for anyone just missing out on the elite standard.
Ryan McLeod (handicap -3.9) ran 29:51 last year to break the course record and Jess Coulson’s (handicap 1.1) women’s record still stands from 2014 as 33:02. There is a £150 bonus for any elite breaking these records as well as a 1st to 5k male/female prize
Entries are coming in faster than ever and the event is on track to sell out around the middle of August.
The scenic, flat, traffic-free road route is open to all abilities and is an excellent course for the runner who is chasing a personal best time and also for those looking to complete their first 10k.
The race will be part of the inaugural Midlands Road Running League and again will be hosting the Midland Masters AC 10k Championships and the Derbyshire Athletics 10k Championships.
Race Features: Chip timing and results service, all finishers receive an event t-shirt, goody bag, extensive individual prize list plus team prizes, ample free car parking, toilets & refreshments.
