Limassol Marathon

Organisers of the 2017 Limassol Marathon GSO have confirmed that their early bird rate will be extended for another two months, with reduced fees for race entry available until 31st January 2017.

The fees will increase gradually at the beginning of each month, but not reach full price until 1st February, enabling participants to benefit from discounted entry for longer. October is now the last month where individual entrants can receive the maximum discount of 40% off the race registration fee for this popular international event on Sunday 19th March 2017.

The maximum early bird discount for individual race entry is available until 31st October 2016 with a 40% discount. A 30% discount is offered until 30th November 2016, a 20% discount is offered until 31st December 2016, followed by a 10% discount until 31st January 2017.

The full list of graduated single entry fees for each of the races can be seen online at http://www.limassolmarathon.com/specialdeals.php .

Entry fees for the Half Marathon, Petrolina 10K Energy Race and 5K City Race will also increase as race day draws closer. This means that runners wishing to enter this superb day of races on Cyprus’ stunning coast will receive a greater discount the sooner they sign up.

Those wishing to book one of Limassol Marathon GSO’s exclusive packages will continue to receive 50% off the race entry fee regardless of when they book. Along with the lowest rates on accommodation and race day support including transportation to the start line, the tailored packages will keep the entry fee for the Marathon at 30€. These packages are an ideal way for athletes and their families to enjoy a fantastic weekend away, a hassle-free race experience and an impressive choice of 3, 4 or 5-star hotels.

Now entering its 11th year, Limassol Marathon GSO, the official Cyprus Marathon, is fully accredited by AIMS, the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races. With its beautiful climate, flat and fast course stretching 21km alongside the sparkling Mediterranean, spectacular coastal scenery and plentiful history and culture, it is easy to see why the event will attract over 13,000 participants of all different nationalities to the island next spring.

What really sets Limassol Marathon GSO apart from other international races is that it offers a range of race distances. For families, friends or running club members of different ages and abilities, it is the perfect solution as it allows everyone to be a part of the action. In addition to the 26.2-mile Limassol Marathon GSO, there is a Half Marathon, Petrolina 10K Energy Race, 5K City Race, PrimeTel 5K Corporate Team Race and 1K Kids Race from which to choose.

Together these races offer a complete sporting experience which is very much embraced by the thousands of participants and spectators who come to the start line to cheer the contestants on. Overseas visitors can expect a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from the locals who love this day of sporting greatness.

Of particular interest to elite athletes is the increased prize fund that is in place for the 2017 Limassol Marathon GSO, as part of the race’s #weadvance campaign. The winners’ cash prizes have been increased for both the men’s and women’s Marathon and Half Marathon races, and these winnings will be doubled if the current course records are broken. It has also been confirmed that the male and female winners in the six age categories across the main races will receive a trophy. Add to this the real potential to run a PB, thanks to the flat and remarkably straight course, and Limassol Marathon GSO is a highly attractive option for elite athletes as well as for all other levels of runner.

Limassol Marathon GSO Race Director Andreas Spyroucommented:We are delighted to be able to extend the early bird discount for the 2017 Limassol Marathon GSO and offer a graduated structure of fees. This means that all individual entrants will receive a discount on the race registration fee until the end of January 2017, but those who sign up sooner will benefit from the greatest discounts. We would therefore encourage runners to secure their place on the start line of their preferred race now and enjoy the lowest prices. Of note is that anyone wishing to book a package will receive a 50% discount on the race registration fee in the entire run up to the event.

“Limassol Marathon GSO is looking forward to welcoming athletes from all over the world to this day of huge sporting achievement. Our overseas visitors always enjoy the stunning scenery, great weather and friendly atmosphere at what is one of Europe’s most exciting sporting events.”
