It's not too late to join thousands of people - from talented club runners to keen novices and charity fundraisers - taking part in this year's Ikano Bank Robin Hood Marathon 2017 Events.

What's more, when you sign up you'll be able to enjoy one of the most spectacular marathon routes in the country passing many of Nottingham's historic landmarks and iconic sights.

Boost your health and wellbeing by taking the ultimate marathon challenge while enjoying breath-taking views of the scenic Wollaton Park, with its herds of grazing deer, the stunning landscape of Colwick Park and the wide-open spaces of Holme Pierrepont Water Sports Centre. Then there's the tranquil riverside setting of Victoria Embankment which attracts hordes of spectators and is the perfect day out for local families and visitors alike.

A host of national and local charities supporting good causes will also benefit from funds being raised by the event which is now in its 37th year. This year's headline charity is Cancer Research UK and the national charity partner is the Alzheimer's Society. Donations will help to fund continued research into a cure for these devastating diseases. Local charity partners include the Children's Brain Tumour Research Centre, Gem’s Cash for Kids, Notts County FC Football in the Community and Nottingham Hospitals Charity.

Race Director, Judith Manson commented: 'We constantly look to evolve our event and this year, those taking part in the 2017 Ikano Bank Robin Hood Marathon and Half Marathon can expect an even more memorable experience.

The course is spectacular and renowned for being spectator-friendly which is why the event is so well-supported. From last year's feedback, we also know our runners appreciate the professionalism and organisation which surrounds them. It's a red-letter day for the whole city and it's still not too late to get involved so sign up now to avoid disappointment.'
