Organisers of the ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon & 10K have confirmed that the 2017 race will take place on Sunday 26th February.
The fourth edition of the event will again be held on the famous Oulton Park motor racing circuit in Cheshire, culminating in an impressive finish straight in the pit lane in front of the spectators. The end of winter date makes this a great event to kick off the road running season. It is also a perfect training race for all spring marathons, including the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon in Trafford on Sunday 2nd April 2017.
Each year the ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon and 10K is a key event for club runners from the surrounding areas, who enjoy celebrating the start of the season at this iconic event. Not only does the circuit provide a smooth, traffic-free surface for runners, it also offers plenty of vantage points for family and friends to watch and cheer, resulting in a fantastic atmosphere.
With both the 10K and the Half Marathon taking place on the same day, the event is ideal for runners of all levels, from those taking on their first 10K to seasoned half marathon runners looking for a unique new venue.
Built into the natural contours of the Cheshire countryside, the Oulton Park race track is one of the country’s finest and most picturesque motor racing circuits. It lends itself perfectly to a road running event and the 2500places are expected to sell fast.
The ASICS Oulton Park 10K starts at 10am and consists of 3 laps of the race circuit. The ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon then starts at 12.30pm and consists of 6 laps of the circuit.
Registration to the 2017 ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon & 10K is open now, with entry costing £22 (affiliated) / £24 (unaffiliated) for the 10K, and £27.50 / £29.50 for the half marathon. Runners of the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon benefit from a reduced entry fee of £20 for the ASICS Oulton Park Half Marathon. All finishers receive an ASICS technical t-shirt and a medal.
Showers, changing facilities and massages are available on site, and there is free parking for competitors and spectators.
