Could you be an Event Adjudicator?

Over 170 people - including County Licensing Officers, BARR Officials, Referees and Race Directors - have now signed up to be Event Adjudicators ahead of the introduction of the new licensing process.

The role of an Event Adjudicator is to fulfil a licence scrutinising procedure so that runbritain can support 100% of events with a race day assessment and further contribute to improved operations of UK endurance running.

The new licensing process starts on 1 April - which coincides with the first race of the 2012 runbritain Grand Prix at the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon - and nine Regional Panels are ready to begin from that date with IT programmes to support the new process currently being tested.

"After a lengthy period of national consultation and trials through our pilot regions in the North East and North West, we will soon introduce the new licensing process," said runbritain MD Geoff Wightman.

"I would like to thank all those who have signed up to be Event Adjudicators and Regional Panel members as we couldn’t do this without them. These are exciting times in endurance running because as well as the new licensing process we have the runbritain handicap scheme growing day by day.
