Clyburn wins July Reward Running

Reward RunningCongratulations to all our prize winners in July’s edition of Reward Running.

Chris Clyburn - who has competed in three Leeds parkrun events in July - secured the overall victory with a handicap improvement of 8.18 for the month, winning an adidas mi-coach for his efforts. He was also the top placed category 4 athlete (athlete with a handicap of 21 or above going into the competition).

The top 10 in the Reward Running leader board consists of the runners who have improved their handicap the most in that month.

To enter the main competition, runners need to have done at least two races in the year before the current month, but other runners may be eligible for a spot prize. Following bonus months in April and May, June was another big bonus month with four spot prizes (Sennheiser headphones) up for grabs in addition to the main prizes.

William Hawkins (Hull Springhead) – with an even more impressive race record than winner Clyburn after five competitive outings in July - finished runner up with a handicap improvement of 7.71, with Michael Hancock in third (5.44).

David Andrew Smith was fourth overall and top placed category three runner with a handicap improvement of 4.82, while Peter Haken (Almost Athletes) and Keith Bird finished fifth (4.79) and sixth (4.10) respectively.

Andy Manning (Wellingborough) was awarded the regular racer prize in seventh overall (handicap improvement 4.01) and James Perry finished eighth (3.97).

Matthew Lloyd (Fairwater) took the category 2 prize in ninth (3.83) and under-20 athlete Andrew Cross (City of Hull) won the category 1 prize in tenth overall.

All winners - including spot prize winners Arfon Hughes (Meirionnydd), Michael Quantrill, Philip Tippin and Sunjay Bhogal (Striders of Croydon) - will be contacted soon.

The full ‘locked down’ July board is available through the following link, but don’t worry if you were too late to enter, get involved with August’s Reward Running which offers four more Sennheiser headphones up for grabs as additional bonus prizes.

Happy racing!
