It was a VERY big racing weekend! Did you race? If so, make sure you #clickyourclock!

37,578 runners finished the Virgin Money London Marathon this weekend and, in addition,  the other big races had the following numbers of finishers,

Southampton Half Marathon - 4,258

Shakespeare Half Marathon - 1,767

London Mini Marathon - 1,727

Bushy parkrun - 931

Southampton 10K - 896

The numbers that took part in London made it the biggest event in its 35 year history. The biggest crowd-puller was women's world record holder,  Paula Radcliffe (handicap 0.9), who was running it as her last competitive marathon and received huge support from the crowds. The 26.2 mile run became an emotional journey for those who witnessed it on the course or on television and Paula also took 2.7 off her handicap score!

The current leader is Helen Southcott (handicap 8.7) wbo ran the London Marathon in 3:14:18 and knocked 1.9 from her score, which was a 7.68% improvement.
