The inaugural Run Norwich 10k, reported that 400 of the runners were first-time runners who enjoyed the scenic course that took the field past many of the city's landmarks, including the cathedral. All 400 of those new runners will now have a handicap score and now have the ability to benchmark their progress and compare their future results across a range of distances and terrains.
Jemma Zakariyyau (handicap 12.2.) is currently leading the #clickyourclock competition after taking part in the Shrewsbury parkrun and taking 4.0 off her score. Jemma first recorded a handicap score back in 2012 but disappeared off the radar until May, this year, and has been putting in regular performances at parkruns. Her handicap had slipped from 16.5 to 30.5 but she has gradually chipped away at it to bring it up to a new high of 12.2. This week, the imrprovement is 15.03%.
The competition isn't over until 12 o' clock tomorrow though and some of you have yet to #clickyourclock. after this weekend of three days of racing.
Did you improve your % score by more than Jemma? If so, be sure to #clickyourclock before 12 o' clock tomorrow when the competition finishes for this week!
