Change of definition - Restricted to Unmeasured Road Race

Currently, a road race that is unmeasured but meets all other licencing criteria is issued with a “restricted” licence. From 16th January, the terminology will change from “restricted” to “unmeasured road race”.

The status is shown on the race licence and on the runbritain events diary. If it is restricted, It means  that it is a UKA approved race, but results cannot be considered for ranking purposes because the course is unmeasured.

Over the past few years we have regularly been contacted by both runners and race organisers asking what restricted means and in order to clarify matters, runbritain is changing the terminology of an unmeasured road race from “restricted” to “unmeasured road race”.

This will be introduced on Monday 16th January and the site will be down for a short time whilst this change is introduced and tested.

We hope this change will improve everyone’s understanding of this part of the licence process.
