Burton 10 Mile race postponed in 2020

Burton Athletic Club have had to take the difficult decision to cancel the Burton 10 Mile race due to be held on 17th May 2020. 

Judy Kelsall from Burton AC has shared with runbritain the disappointing news. 

"The Environment Agency are carrying out extensive work on the flood barriers, this work is concentrated in the area used by our race and after careful consideration we decided to cancel the race as we could not guarantee the safe running of the event.

The race in its current form has been staged for 35 years and historical records show that there was a 10 mile race held in Burton as far back as 1887. We are sorry to disappoint all our faithful supporters and hope to be able to get the event up and running again in 2021."
