The 2013 Fleet Half Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 17 March from Calthorpe Park in Fleet, North Hampshire, has been launched and is filling up quickly.

In addition, Fleet and Crookham AC is delighted to announce a new title sponsor for the 2013 race with Brooks taking over as lead sponsor.

Join 3000 other runners along traffic free, well marshalled roads through the town and local villages and enjoy the large crowds that come out to support the event which will include a team of TV celebrities running as part of the TV Times Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research charity.

The race is described as “gently undulating” on the event website and is billed as a perfect preparation race ahead of April’s Virgin London Marathon.

Prices are £19 for affiliated runners and £21 for unaffiliated which includes a great race, warm up exercises, medal and goody bag, full medical cover, prizes to top finishers in all age groups covered.

In Calthorpe Park refreshments will be on sale, alongside t-shirts, engraving (for your medal) and photos of your efforts.

The race - which started in 1981 and has achieved a gold rating by UKA each year since the ratings began - is organised by runners at Fleet & Crookham AC and has a race limit of 3000.

"In difficult economic conditions it is fantastic to get a new backer and their belief in our event is something we can be very proud of. Working with the team at Brooks I am sure will bring some new ideas for the race in 2013," said Race Director Penny Abbott.
