Brooks Fleet pre-London Half Marathon Increase in Prizes
Organisers of the annual Brooks Fleet pre-London Half Marathon, taking place on Sunday March 20th 2016 are delighted to announce an increase in prize money.
Race Organisers, Fleet & Crookham AC will be increasing prize values right across all the categories. There is an extensive prize list in the Open/Senior age group for both men and women but the race also recognises all 5 year Master age groups giving 1st to 3rd prizes in each, all the way down to 65+ for women and 70+ for men. The women’s age category prizes start at 35-39 and the men 40-44 and then each 5 year band afterwards.
Organisers say “It is important to recognise that you can still be a winner in your age category but not necessarily cross the finish line first. Many of our runners come back year after year and you see them move through the age categories but still achieving impressive times which we recognise. We rely on the returners to help keep the race going, so we want to recognise their achievements too.
As organisers, we also believe the race is not only about those at the front, it is also about everyone taking part regardless of age, speed, sex or ability. Our event is about people setting themselves a target and completing and enjoying the event and as a result leading a healthier lifestyle. Each finisher will receive a special 35th anniversary medal, a re-usable kit bag and a runner’s neck ruff, so everyone is a winner”.
