British Athletics Road Mile Championships

The inaugural British Athletics Road Mile championships, incorporated into the BUPA Westminster Mile event, takes place this Sunday.
The British capital will be treated to top class racing as a stellar field, including Andy Baddeley and Ross Murray, battle it out for the British title. David Bishop will also be on the start line as he returns from his USA base having run the UK fastest 1500m time of the year recently. The field also includes the in-form 19 year old, Charlie Grice and BUCS (British Universities) Champion, James Shane.
Lisa Dobriskey heads the women’s field but will expect to be pushed all the way by Hannah England and Steph Twell. Charlene Thomas and Emma Jackson are sure to be in the hunt too.
Added into the mix are junior championship races and wheelchair races that will see Paralympian, David Weir challenging to be the fastest athlete on the day.
The event kicks off at 1000hrs with an open adults race. There is then a family run/walk at 1145hrs and the elite races take place in the afternoon making this a great family day out.
Elite races are at 1425hrs (men) and 1445hrs (women).
