Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon

Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 20th May 2018 in the historic City of Plymouth. Few cities can rival Plymouth’s rich seafaring heritage, its stunning waterfront and natural harbours, its vibrant cultural life and its proximity to some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK.
Attracting runners from over 200 towns and cities across the UK, the Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon continues to grow. Runners of all abilities are taking on the challenging 13.1 mile course which includes some of Plymouth’s most iconic landmarks.
Last year’s Half Marathon saw over 3,500 runners sign up, collectively raising an impressive £250,000 for local and national charities.
On Sunday 20th May 2018, the Wessex RFCA Corporate and Services Challenge will continue, previously having over 60 teams take partin Britain’s Ocean City Running Series. Also back for 2018 is the Primary Schools Challenge which had an incredible 2,500 children complete the last mile in a 13.1 mile programme to promote healthy and active lifestyles. This year the event will have an impressive 3500 children take part from over 50 local schools.
Also this year will see the introduction of the Charity Mascot Race, a dash on Plymouth Hoe in front of thousands of spectators! Mascots will have the chance to compete against Pilgrim Pete (Plymouth Argyle FC), Burts Crisps and Nuffy Bear (Nuffield Health) and many others for 1st place.
