Brighton Half Marathon 2013: registration now open
The Brighton Half Marathon 2013 - which will take place on Sunday 17 February - was launched last week at the Seattle Hotel Brighton Marina, celebrating the success of the 2012 race and the continuous growth of the event.
The 2013 event will start at 9am on Madeira Drive on Brighton’s seafront, and there are a total of 10,000 places available.
The Brighton Half Marathon, which sold out in record time last year, has been growing steadily over the last couple of years and attracts local club runners as well as beginners and seasoned runners who want to take part in an iconic race on the south coast.
One of the longest established and most popular seafront road race events in the UK, the Brighton Half Marathon, which is now in its 23rd year, is one of the first major half marathon of the new year and perfectly suited as a warm up for all the spring marathons.
The organisers also announced that partners confirmed so far for 2013 included Brooks, Sweatshop, The Seattle Hotel, Visit Brighton, Brighton & Hove City Council, Studio57 Clinic, Virgin Money Giving and a new official training partner, Garmin.
"We are very excited to launch the 2013 race and to announce that registration is now open," said Race Director Becky Stevens. "I am also pleased to welcome Garmin on board as a new partner for 2013. There will be more news about the Brighton Half Marathon over the coming months and we hope to see everyone again at the 2013 race."
A new website and new logo were unveiled at the launch and registration is now open for the 2013 race. Entry costs £27 for affiliated runners and £29 for non-affiliated runners, with charity packages available too.
The Brighton Half Marathon is organised by, and the main fundraiser for, The Sussex Beacon, a Brighton based charity providing innovative services to meet the changing needs of people living with HIV. Other official charities have been announced as WaterAid and RISE.
