Belated congratulations to all of our prize winners in August’s edition of Reward Running and apologies for the late posting of the result.

Reward Running

Long-term leader Rob Phillips led from gun to tape to take the overall victory with a handicap improvement of 14.37 after successive weekend outings at the Banstead Woods parkrun. He also took the category 4 title (athlete with a handicap of 21 or above going into the competition) after starting the month with a handicap of 27.3.

The top 10 in the Reward Running leader board consists of the runners who have improved their handicap the most in that month.

To enter the main competition, runners need to have done at least two races in the year before the current month, but other runners may be eligible for a spot prize. Following bonus months in April, May, June and July, August was another big bonus month with four spot prizes (Sennheiser headphones) up for grabs in addition to the main prizes.

Graeme Dunbar (Portobello) took the runners up spot and category 3 prize with a handicap improvement of 5.77 with Andrew Burgess-Tupling in third (4.96).

Ian Mason was fourth overall (4.82), while Tim Carr and Graham Jarvis finished fifth (4.63) and sixth (4.38) respectively.

Adam Woska (3.95) took seventh with Andrew Mennie (3.29) in eighth claiming the category 2 victory.

Peter Rose (Rutland) finished in ninth with a handicap improvement of 3.20 and James Wignall (Sale Harriers Manchester) secured the category 1 title in tenth overall with a handicap improvement of 1.91 in spite of starting the month on just 0.93.

All winners - including spot prize winners Chris Aitken (Finch Coasters), Andrew Holland, Amanda Thompson (Les Croupiers) and Dennis Scott (North Down) - should already have been contacted.

The full ‘locked down’ August board is available through the following link, but don’t worry if you were too late to enter, get involved with September’s Reward Running which offers four more Sennheiser headphones up for grabs as additional bonus prizes.

Happy racing!
