Spectators at the Bupa Great North Run were treated to a thrilling finish between Mo Farah and Kenenisa Bekele who both reduced their runbritain handicap scores. Bekele got the better of Farah in the end and also took a massive 0.7 off his handicap, which went from MINUS 4.8 to MINUS 5.5. Farah still has a lower score, though. He took 0.1 off his and it now stands at MINUS 6.7.
Priscah Jeptoo won the women's race and also reduced her handicap score from MINUS 2.4 to MINUS 2.7.
Amongst the celebreties that ran were BBC presenter, Sophie Raworth who kept her handicap score level on 11.1, Emmerdale's, Tony Audenshaw, who also stayed level on 8.0 and Radio 2's Jo Whiley who got her first handicap score after running with her daughter, India. They both scored 24.0 after completing the distance in 2:05:43.
