2018 Reading Half Marathon offers free entries

Reading Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 18 March, 2018. It's one of the largest and fastest half marathons in the UK and attracts runners at all levels. Nearly 15,000 registered runners took part in 2017.
For 2018, the race organiser is inviting athletes who have broken 70min (men) or 80min (women) to apply for their elite free entry.
In 2017, 203 athletes completed the race in under 80 minutes.
The men's winner was Andy Vernon (handicap -5.9) who ran the course in 1:03:08 with Charlotte Purdue (handicap -2.0) who ran 1:12:15 for the women's title.
The 2018 half marathon route promises to be as impressive as ever, taking in the highlights of Reading town centre. A world renowned course, huge crowd support, musical entertainment, beautiful university grounds and a field of seasoned athletes inspire a momentous finish inside Madejski Stadium, the home of Reading FC.
Just five weeks prior to the London Marathon, the Reading Half is the perfect event to fill that spring race spot, test your legs and practice that marathon pace ahead of the big 26.2 in April.
