2014 Race Directors' Handbook available now!

We are pleased to bring you the Race Director's Handbook for 2014 in our Race Directors' section of the website.

The 2014 handbook replaces earlier versions that have been used by race directors all over Britain. Tony Wenlock is race director of Aberystwyth Charity 10K, the Aberystwyth Twin Peaks and the Borth Beach 10k & Junior Mile and said:

"Using the Race Handbook has really helped in turning our races into very successful events. From the planning advice right through to the course design, signposting, marshalling, it’s all in there.  We’ve followed the manual with all three of our annual races and the feedback has been universally good – “great organisation”, “well signposted and marshalled”,  and perhaps best of all – increased numbers, as people keep coming back and they bring others with them.  Helped by the online entry system, our last race– Aberystwyth Charity 10K – saw a 20% increase in participants – reaching past our 500 target and presenting us with a new challenge at the finish line – but the handbook came to the rescue with the advice on the double funnel system, and it worked really well.  It’s been hard work getting all the race documentation together but now we have it and we know we can stage races that are safe, fun and events that people want to take part in.
