16 November deadline for Greater Manchester Marathon Platinum charity applications

Greater Manchester Marathon

This is a final call for any charities wishing to apply to become one of the top tier Platinum charities for the Greater Manchester Marathon.

The event, which is one of the newest and most exciting additions to the UK marathon calendar, takes place on 28 April 2013 and has an elevation gain of only 55m, which makes it the flattest in the UK and one of the flattest in the world.

There is still an opportunity to become one of the four top tier Platinum charities, which comes with a range of benefits including marketing and PR support to ensure the top tier charities enjoy maximum exposure across various channels and media. The Platinum packages start from £6,375 plus 250 runners’ places, and the deadline for applications is less than one month away on Friday 16 November.

If you’re interested in this opportunity, please get in touch with Tim Holdworth on 0161 928 6795 or email [email protected]. Gold, Silver, Bronze and Associate Partner Packages are also available.

Over 35% of the Greater Manchester Marathon runners ran for charity in 2012, and the average amount raised per runner was over £650 (calculated on declared funds raised only).

New for 2013, the Greater Manchester Marathon will be starting on the A56 White City Roundabout in Old Trafford, just a short walk from Manchester United Football Club, and finishing outside the magnificent stadium.

The race village and charity zone will be located on the E2 car park in front of the stadium, creating an impressive back drop, while the new improved route takes in the Trafford Quays area, Sale, Brooklands, Timperley, Altrincham and Urmston, with some of the route’s highlights including the Imperial War Museum and the new Media City

The flat, fast route is perfect for beginners as well as PB chasers, and places have been selling fast.

Athletics legend Ron Hill MBE has pledged his support for the marathon in his hometown and he will be starting the race on 28 April before joining the running crowds for the first eight miles.

Manchester Evening News, 102 Capital FM, Men’s Running and Women’s Running have been announced as media partners for the Greater Manchester Marathon 2013. Sponsors of the 2013 race include Brooks Sports, Up & Running, Clif Bar and MLP Solicitors.
